Pilgrim Area Collaborative is a public educational collaborative that serves students with a wide range of disabilities from primary through post-secondary levels from all over the South Shore.

 

We have an anticipated need for Direct Service Providers to work with post high school aged students as an Educational Coach. Experience working with transition aged youth and young adults (ages 18-22) and/or prevous Educational Coaching experience is strongly desired. Positions currently available for students attending the EXCEL program at Bridgewater State University.  

 

These are part-time positions (approximately 17-22 hours/week) with benefits to start August 24, 2026.  

 

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Support individuals attending college in a MAIHE postsecondary program according to the school's academic calendar. 

  • Be on campus weekly with their students for a total number of contracted days/hours.
  • Help the student create, modify, and work on a person-centered plan to achieve their academic and/or life skills goals.  
  • Attend classes with the students who are auditing, to support engagement and participation. 
  • Meet regularly with the student to review course content, clarify assignments, and ensure understanding. 
  • Teach and reinforce strategies that help the student navigate challenges, build strengths, and meet course expectations. 
  • Assists the student in building a network of academic and campus support. 
  • Participate in any mandatory orientation/s and professional development opportunities as required by PACES or the college program. 
  • Establish and maintain appropriate and cooperative relationships with campus personnel (faculty, instructors, administration, etc.) as well as PAC staff.   
  • Meet with supervisor or college team as needed during work hours to discuss programming, schedules, behavioral management issues, etc. 
  • Report and document any student accident or behavioral incident to the Supervisor and/or Program Coordinator. 
  • Provide direct instruction/support to address student IEP goals including but not limited to executive functioning, functional academics, daily living skills, self-regulation/coping skills. 
  • Collect data on IEP goals. 
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students to ensure their safety. 
  • Meet assigned student(s) in the morning and oversee their departure in the afternoon. 
  • Maintain con?dentiality of student records and student information. 

  •  All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director.
